Zyvex introduces S100 Nanomanipulator System

Richardson, Texas (April 15, 2003)

Zyvex Corporation, the first molecular nanotechnology company, today announced the sales release of the S100 Nanomanipulator System, a positioning and testing tool for nanotechnology research and development applications.

The S100 accommodates up to four quadrants of three-dimensional stages, which grasp, move, test, and optimally position molecular-level samples for scanning electron microscopes (SEMs). An easy-to-use joystick and illuminated keypad provide an unparalleled degree of control and resolution. Additionally, a selection of probes and NanoEffectors™ are available to enhance the range of testing.

Zyvex’s Chief Operating Officer, Thomas A. Cellucci, PhD, MBA noted: “The launch of the S100 demonstrates our leadership position in practical nanotechnology tools. The S100 is the result of listening to our customers. We anticipate that the S100 will become the preferred platform for SEM research.”

“The S100 is just the beginning of a series of innovative, market-driven tools,” noted Richard Weitzel, Zyvex’s Director of Sales. “Our understanding of current and future research and development needs allows Zyvex to maintain a competitive advantage in new product commercialization. We are already responding to inquiries from all over the world from potential users in universities and industry, who demand flexible scientific tools and value.”

The S100 Nanomanipulator System is an integral part of Zyvex’s mission of providing flexible, automated manufacturing at ever-decreasing sizes.
